Representatives of the parliamentary factions BYuT-Batkivshchyna and Our Ukraine - People's Self-Defense intend to put before Parliament a bill that would provide for criminal liability of MPs who do not observe the constitutional provision on personal voting.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the two factions, BYuT-Batkivshchyna faction chairman, Andriy Kozhemiakin told a briefing on Friday. "The united opposition pledges to submit and support the bill providing for criminalization of every people's deputy, who will not follow Article 84 of the Constitution of Ukraine on the personal vote," the MP said. Kozhemiakin also informed that BYuT-Batkivshchyna and OU-PSD decided to introduce compulsory personal voting for the members of their factions. "We have voted for each MP of our factions to vote in person since today's meeting," he said.
